My name is Deb Hindman and thank you for taking the time to view my campaign website for Comal County Judge.
I bought a crime ridden RV park in Canyon Lake and completely transformed it into a peaceful and secure residential RV community, with the help of my husband, David. We have been married 39 years, have two adult children and a granddaughter.
I am a true conservative, a devoted Christian, and a regular church attender. I am committed to stay true to conservative values in a liberal environment (one that is only pretending to be conservative). The Commissioners Court appears to be indifferent to the challenges and pain which average working people have experienced the past few years. The County collects more in property taxes every year, trying to hide the increases through higher property valuations but, when it becomes impossible to justify the increases in valuations, the Commissioners Court, headed by the County Judge, raises tax rates.
This year, the Court raised property taxes by 15.4%. I have seen numerous people publicly plead before the Court to grant them tax relief because they were being "taxed out of their homes," or off their land. This year, everyone is just trying to stay even, and yet taxpayers were burdened with a confiscatory property tax increase. This is erasing the benefits put in place by the Texas legislalture which were intended to relieve the already huge tax burden which property owners have been forced to endure. The State giveth, but Comal County taketh away.
As a financial advisor who has invested my money and my life in the private sector, I know what real fiscal responsibility looks like, I know what real conservatism is, and I ask you to give me the chance to show you , and Comal County government, what it looks like as I lead by example.
Please join me in this effort by supporting my campaign financially, or as a volunteer.
Thank you so much,
Debra J. Hindman
